Keynote Presentations
This joint ATHENA/PAAM/AAMTA annual summer conference will bring an in-depth focus on therapeutic eurythmy as a tool for learning how anthroposophic therapies work with the etheric body, particularly with regards to how we can understand and treat cancer. Hans-Broder von Laue MD (anthroposophic physician) and Elke von Laue (eurythmy therapist) have worked intensively with this subject and will bring content from their new book, “ The Physiology of Eurythmy Therapy” (to be published by Floris books in May 2010). They will present the morning keynote and group eurythmy sessions. Specific themes include:
- Development of the human body out of the spiritual world
- Physiology of normal development
- Transformation of the etheric in cancer and cancer treatment
Profession-specific Workshops
Afternoon meetings will be devoted to deepening the theme from the morning’s presentations and group eurythmy, in relation to:
- medicine
- eurythmy
- art therapy
- rhythmic massage
- nursing
- music therapy
- and an interdisciplinary group for other health professionals
These sessions will be peer-led, with an emphasis on taking the strong experiences of process from the morning sessions and bringing them into practical application for the daily work of each of the professions. A list of the professional group leaders will be made available on this website closer to the conference date.
Interdisciplinary Case Conferences
Friday and Saturday afternoons will close with small group discussions around several historical cases from Rudolf Steiner’s work with physicians and therapists. Each group will include members from the different therapeutic disciplines, which we hope will foster sharing of diverse perspectives and experiences.
