Hans-Broder von Laue MD is one of the founders of the Öschelbronn anthroposophic hospital in southern Germany, which has developed into multi-disciplinary center for cancer treatment and cancer-related emergencies (www.anthromed-oeschelbronn.de). A graduate of the University of Berlin and University of Tübingen, Dr. von Laue’s clinical work over 4 decades has included pediatric specialization, then general practice, with eventual specialization in cancer treatment and oversight of an outpatient oncology program. He now lectures and teaches widely, including the Anthroposophic Medical Seminar in Stuttgart and the anthroposophic physicians’ and therapeutic eurythmy trainings inEngland. He is also very active in clinical research, working in cooperation with the Havelhöhe Research Institute in Berlin, and has published in both conventional and anthroposophic medical journals on cancer biology, cancer treatment and therapeutic eurythmy.
Elke E. von Laue was born in Dresden, Germany, where she attended the (re)opened Waldorf-School before it was closed under communism at the end of World War II. She trained as a nurse and left East Germany one year before the Berlin-wall was build. In Dornach, Switzerlandshe studied eurythmy with Lea van der Pals and therapeutic eurythmy with Trude Thetter and Dr. M. Kirchner-Bockholt, as well as being part of the stage group with M. Savitch, and later W. Barfod. For more than 20 years Elke von Laue worked as a Therapist in the Öschelbronn anthroposophic hospital, where she treated patients, both individually and in groups, many with cancer. She has taught therapeutic eurythmy in many countries, as well as being part of the faculty of the college for Therapeutic Eurythmy in Dornach, Switzerland. She still is active working with patients and has published several papers on therapeutic eurythmy in medical journals.
