Mentoring
Welcome to the PAAM Mentoring Program (PMP)
Many doctors and health professionals who have attended our PAAM trainings have asked how to add hands-on clinical training to their classroom experience.
Most of us now practicing anthroposophic medicine found our way to an anthroposophic hospital, clinic, or experienced doctor, for clinical supervision. In this way we went from classroom knowledge to practical clinical know-how. We gained confidence in using anthroposophic medicines and therapies, and strengthened our “courage to heal.”
Through the PAAM Mentoring Program, started in 2007, this essential clinical support is now available to practicing physicians:
- A doctor in clinical practice (mentee) is paired with an experienced anthroposophic doctor (mentor).
- Mentor and mentee meet, usually by telephone, every three weeks
- The focus of these conversations is case-based, using real clinical situations from the mentee’s own practice.
- The PMP provides guidelines and learning resources, and we periodically check in with mentee and mentor.
